Main Street & Broadway

We have been very pleased with all of the positive feedback we have received about Main Street & Broadway, a blog dedicated to promoting our town and small business community.

Over the past two months we have spoken personally to many small business owners throughout Miami County and all have conveyed how much they enjoy reading of the positive aspects of our local community as well as learning more of others that have taken the initiative in stepping out on their own and starting their own business.

The challenges are similar in nature and in today’s economy many struggle to not only maintain their business, but to expand as well and it’s important to know that they are not the only ones pushing for a change.

Unfortunately, negative news is easy to come by and we have a tendency to take all of this information in and without realizing it, sometimes we miss seeing the positives. In our opinion there is a layer of dissatisfaction in the general population (for a variety of given reasons) that has to be dug through, but we have found overwhelmingly when you speak to individual business owners, their reasons for opening their business and raising their families in Peru are all very similar and many speak very positively about our community. Personally, I think Peru Indiana needs a good PR Manager because there are two very distinct thoughts/beliefs about what is happening in our town and local economy and one of those I find particularly flawed and not based on fact, but much hearsay. Any takers???
